These Gongs are from the Indonesian island of Java and are used in the South-east Asian musical ensemble known as the gamelan. The gong ageng is the largest and deepest of the suspended gongs in a Javanese gamelan. It hangs from a frame with the gong suwakan and two smaller kempul.
