These Gongs are from the Indonesian island of Java and are used in the South-east Asian musical ensemble known as the gamelan. The gong ageng is the largest and deepest of the suspended gongs in a Javanese gamelan. It hangs from a frame with the gong suwakan and two smaller kempul.

Origins
The gong ageng is a Javanese gamelan instrument. It may have originated in ancient Greece, and traveled to India and China, and then to Java.
